10 Reasons to Love Romance Novels
I love me some romance. Here are 10 reasons why:
1. Two stories in one book – the romance and the side plot
2. A dose of hope – if this hot mess of a couple gets an HEA, can ours be far behind?
3. Learn cool new things to do in your spare time. You know what I mean.
4. And while we’re on the subject, mirror neurons. OK?
5. Getting into the nuts and bolts of how people communicate. Humans work out problems in so many ways; romance explores them all.
6. Strong female role models.
7. The hero’s journey- nobody puts a broken hero back together like a romance author. If we’re lucky, it happens to both leads.
8. Pushing boundaries. We have some pretty fearless authors out there, and Indies are taking risks that are a joy to behold.
9. Page turning, can’t put it down, who cares if the kids are frying bacon on the pellet stove, heart racing escapism.
And my top reason of all:
10. Compassion. That’s right. Reading romance makes you a nicer person. Romance explores the flaws in people and then teaches you how to love those flaws. And the world can always use more of that.
Have a beautiful day, my friends.
