Writing this book has been an incredible journey. After three failed attempts to create a coherent horror novel, the book I finally wrote turned out to be a romance. For more about how that happened, check out my author’s page on Amazon.
I loved writing about Dorothy, her awesome shoes and funky dressing habits and her client, Edward Walker. If you like your heroes damaged and suffering, he’s your guy. Edward is fictional, and I made up a lot of difficult stuff for him to deal with. Just sayin’. But he is inspired by the writings of an unbelievably brave man. This man shared his story with the world, and also wrote about his resulting craving for simple, human connection. The undeniable desire that Ed has for closeness, that desire that drives him out beyond the walls he’s built, is a tribute to that real life hero.
Now before you ask, Dorothy’s unlimited budget for high-end shoes and fine lingerie is absolutely the result her parents being filthy rich. After all, it’s fiction right? New, matching sets from VS – and Jimmy Choo’s? Well, why not? She’s got a credit card. The country music she loves, now that is all her.
Oh, yes… there’s fast cars in there… and I made an awesome bad guy. And of course, romance. And Thai food. Whatever are you waiting for?
